We have developed a microneedle-based technology that allows to locally control the composition of the interstitial fluid. It can remove large amounts of soluble factors within a small volume of tissue (in the mm3 range). This can be done in a continuous way, over a sustained period of time, and applied to both in vivo and in vitro settings.
This mode of action opens new therapeutic windows for conditions where the composition of the microenvironment becomes a key driver of the pathological process, such as seen in cancer. It also offers new possibilities in the field of diagnostic and health monitoring.
